Book ‘Atores coletivos em tensão’ is launched in Curitiba
Work edited by UFPR researchers addresses contemporary challenges of political communication in Brazil.

Professors and researchers of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) Kelly Prudencio (center), Carla Rizzoto, and Rafael Cardoso Sampaio publish the book “Atores coletivos em tensão” (“Collective Actors in Tension”). In recent years, the three doctors have rotated prominent roles at the Federal University, among them as coordinators of graduate programs. In the Juvevê and Rectory buildings they are recurring figures.
The foreword by the “Pope” of political communication, Wilson Gomes, reads: “As I always say, we live in an open-air laboratory of innovative, high-impact (for better and for worse) and accelerated political experiments. Paying attention to everything, keeping an open mind and reinforcing convictions are essential attitudes (…)” (our translation).
There are texts by journalists and researchers Helen Anacleto (master’s-degree classmate), Nilton Kleina (CBN colleague), and social scientist Bruno Nichols (deathbed friend), and by a memorable list.
On the scientific board is the coordinator of the journalism program at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR), Suyanne Tolentino de Souza.
Suyanne was my television professor in undergrad, Kelly and Carla taught Recognition Theory, and Rafael is my advisor in political communication. For the dissertation, we are preparing something on murder threats against judges.
