Defending childhood is a daily action, not a memorial
Paraná document reinforces that child protection must come from everyday political practice, not just paper.

The Ten-Year Plan for the Rights of Children and Adolescents of the State of Paraná (2014–2023), 450 pages, landed in my lap. My impressions begin with the drawback: before naming the people who truly got their hands dirty, there is an endless list of politicians. Boring!
Having gotten past that stretch, what one reads is a delight for academics, public managers and child advocates. The information is so clear that it notes: “on this subject we have no information.” But let me tell you the reason for my comment.
Although that list of politicians causes me a certain nausea (because of the inverted hierarchy of things, the merit belongs to the technicians who wrote it, the author’s name comes first!), their signature is essential.
Not only the signature, but a commitment that goes through this: legislation does not change reality, plans do not change reality, but daily action does.
