Starting with cleaning the windows
Chronicle uses good humor to illustrate how mistaken perceptions distort the view of others’ actions.

In the morning, as soon as he gets to the kitchen for coffee, the husband finds his wife astonished before the window.
—What a filthy neighbor! How can she be so slovenly? Look at the sheets on her clothesline, they are so dirty! — she says.
And it happens again, the next day. And the next.
—My love, have you seen how filthy the neighbor is? The sheets are all stained, what dirt! — she insists, disapprovingly.
And the band plays this way time after time.
Until the husband one day takes a cloth and cleans their own house’s windows. And those sheets come clean at once.
